Teaching Methodology

We at JPS Dehradun, believe in being conversant with the progressive, rapidly growing technological strides made by the country in all spheres, and have endeavoured to translate these advancements into the realm of education. Along with this, we aim at developing an ever evolving, comprehensive, inclusive teaching methodology which serves to cater to the specific requirement of each unique young mind.

Our school has been using smart classes to impart education for a number of years and our students enjoy learning through the use of various tools like cloud, snapshot, various nib sizes and colourful interfaces. The availability of internet ensures the clarification of doubts and gives easy access to interesting animations and videos related to the topic being discussed, especially in conceptual subjects such as science and geography. To enable this, we have wi-fi in every part of the school campus.

Science with state-of-the-art equipment enable students to acquire practical scientific skills and creative expression. In keeping with the CBSE maxim that diversity is the reality and every child has special needs, JPS Dehradun stresses on the importance of inclusive education. Guidance and counselling sessions for children who require special attention or have reading, writing and speaking problems, are conducted regularly.

A system of remedial classes attempts to bring the academically weaker students at par with the average students. On the other hand, seminars, workshops and guest lectures on scholastic and co-scholastic subjects are organized on a regular basis for the purpose of intellectual stimulation and generation of interest. Activity-based learning also forms an integral part of the pedagogical system in the school. This involves a number of activities such as project and model making, art and craft, learning by doing, and educational tours and trips in and outside the country.
